It is made up of muscles in your pelvis that help support your bladder, bowels, and reproductive organs. Our Physical Therapy Team will assess your condition and work with you to develop a plan. Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy is a specialized area that can help with muscle relaxation, control, and strengthening.

What does Pelvic Floor Dysfunction mean?
Pelvic Floor dysfunction means that the muscles in your pelvic floor are too tight, weak, or not coordinating effectively. This can cause:

  • Constipation
  • Frequent Urination
  • Pain / Difficulty with sexual activity
  • Difficulty with urination
  • Leakage with laughing, walking, or other exercises
  • Enuresis or bedwetting

Pelvic Floor Dysfunction can be caused by pregnancy, surgery, injuries, aging, and other health conditions. Children and men can also experience pelvic floor dysfunction.
